The handle made the difference21 February 2018My little girl and I were first introduced to the Jollypop when she was in the NICU at 2 days old. After a week, her "orange friend" came home with us. I tried looking for Jollypop in the stores to no avail, so tried MULTIPLE different brands of other dummies and none of them made the cut. Is it just me, or are most of the dummies made with too hard a plastic piece that rests against bubs cheeks, which creates a seemingly painful red mark. Jollypop has one solid pliable piece - no red mark. They also have the cherry-shaped nipple, which bub seemed to prefer. Around 3 months my little girl started realizing her hands were the key to the no-lose-dummy situation (thanks to the handle on the Jollypop). Now at 6 months, I can confidently say that this simple Jollypop has helped my little one reach milestones. With closed eyes, 3 dummies in the cot at nap time, she'll reach around for an available handle and turn a 30 minute nap into an appropriate 90 minute nap.
Nicole, your little one sounds like my cheeky monkeys. Nothing else worked for them. Love the bedtime idea - happy bub and a happy mum that gets to continue sleeping.
